About
Why facilit8 exists.
Compliant-by-design, traceable AI for regulated operators is a distinct and durable category — not a feature that general-purpose AI will absorb. The largest AI labs build horizontal tools; the largest consultancies sell people by the hour. Neither builds the narrow, evidence-grade, standard-bound production engine that a regulated operator needs and can defend. We do, and we run it as a service.
Co-founder
Marta Higuera.
Applied-AI leader who deploys AI responsibly inside a regulated industry every day.
As AI Labs Director at Insud Pharma, Marta founded and leads an internal AI team reporting to the Group President, applying generative and classical AI across a regulated pharmaceutical group — accelerating time-to-market, streamlining operations, and improving engagement with stakeholders, regulators among them. It is precisely the discipline facilit8 is built on: AI that has to hold up in a regulated setting.
Before Insud she was Managing Director and Partner at BCG Digital Ventures in Singapore, the corporate venture builder. She was co-founder and CEO — later Chair — of OpenAgent, an Australian technology company she scaled over a decade (Deloitte Tech Fast 50 for five consecutive years; a finalist for EY Entrepreneur of the Year; venture-backed).
She was on the founding team of Terrascope, an AI platform for corporate net-zero pathways — directly adjacent to facilit8's climate-disclosure work. She began her career at McKinsey, holds a Stanford MBA, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
Co-founder
Thomas Eskebæk.
Company-builder at the exact intersection facilit8 occupies — AI, documents and regulated operators.
Thomas is currently founder and CEO of Heliotec, driving the energy transition through the deployment of distributed generation and storage across Europe — which places him on the operator side of the sectors facilit8 serves.
He co-founded Titanbay, the European private-markets investment platform, and led it as CEO from 2019 to 2024 before moving to its board — building and scaling a regulated financial-services business and the network that comes with it.
Earlier, he founded and led ScioSphere, a document and text-analysis software business sold to leading life-sciences and pharmaceutical companies — an early, direct precursor to the problem facilit8 now solves.
His wider career spans strategy consulting at Bain & Company, including utilities and private-equity work, and investing roles at Oxx, Eight Roads (Fidelity International's proprietary investment arm) and a secondment at Hg. He is a member of YPO.
Why the two, together.
Between them, our founders bring regulated-industry fluency on both the operator and the technology side, the rigour of top-tier strategy consulting, and the credibility to be trusted with a regulator-facing obligation.
One has built and sold document-analysis software into regulated industries, scaled a regulated financial-services platform, and now runs an energy-transition operator. The other leads applied AI inside a regulated pharmaceutical group and has helped build climate-focused AI software.
facilit8 is the intersection of the two.
